Catch up on the latest activity at the bench.  don't forget to join me on my Facebook page for regular updates

February 2020:
It seems that I have atleast four years worth of adventures to post up here, where on earth do I start? So much has happened during the past four years, each deserves their own blog post =D

I was contacted by Sanjay who owns a rice mill in Cambodia.  His company aims to modernise and expand Cambodia’s indigenous rice milling industry to process the country’s high quality rice paddy produce.  The promoters of LGC wish to bring their knowledge, experience and funds to Cambodia in what they believe is a great country with huge opportunities to work with locals and create benefits for everyone
It's a very personal passion project of Sanjays, to celebrate its success he wanted to gift all his friends and family with rice keepsakes - using his own rice

I am very pleased to have been asked to undertake such a responsibility. This project took around two weeks to complete

I can confirm the quality of the rice by the way - it is outstanding

April 2016:
I've finally found time to make a proper blog which can be found here =D

March 2016:
It's already march????  When did that happen??
I can't believe it's been so long since I made an entry here!  What's been happening at the bench since my last update?  It's been chaos!  Between house decorating and an interesting episode with a blocked toilet after the other half thought it was a good idea to rinse out his plaster bucket down the loo, turned out to be not such a good idea.
I've been busy making everything from baby blankets to brass Darleks

I've also been filming some of my work which is yet to be edited & put on YouTube for those interested in seeing how I make some things.  It really is hard to show in photos exactly how much work goes into everything, so my aim with the films is to really show that, while still being entertaining & interesting to watch.
More recently I've re-opened my Etsy shop & added to it items I feel no longer belong on my main website.  I originally opened my Etsy shop a few years ago, but it didn't really take off.  That was mainly due to the fact I only listed about 6 items & just left it at that.  I'm happy with it's success this time around & certainly looks like it will be a permanent feature.  I'll be re vamping the photos of items that will be left on the main website to make everything easier on the eye for fast browsing.
I'm quite secretive by nature, so the rest of my exciting news I'll announce after it has happened & it's a biggie

May 2015:
Normal service has been resumed!  I now have my workshop area up and running.  I've loads of exciting new projects lined up so be sure to check back often.

February 2015:
I hoped to have normal service resumed by November, and now I realise that was very optimistic.  The house we've bought, though while not quite a wrecker, does need extensive building work and modernisation throughout.  The building work has taken (a lot) longer than previously anticipated, with unavoidable set backs such as discovering the entire house needs re-wired and other problems along the way.  I'm glad to say that at least the workshop area is now making very good progress.  My target to have a functional work space is end April.

November 2014:
It's not every day you get approached by a huge company that has chosen you to help them promote their business, but that's incredibly what happened to me.  I was entrusted to craft several vials that were inscribed with gaming codes.  All I knew at the time was the vials were part of a promotion, so I made sure to keep the entire process absolute secret.  The company was none other than Wired Productions (a detail not even I knew until after the event!).  The vials were then hidden around select streets in London, and if anyone found a vial they would win copies of Tiny Troopers or a PS4 console.
More details on this promotion can be found on Wired Productions website, or several other online gaming blogs that covered the story

October 2014:
I am in the process of moving house!  This means there might be a slight delay in processing orders.  Please allow at least one week for your rice vial orders.  I'm unable to undertake silver custom work at this time as I will not have my workbench.  Items already on the website are not affected by this and are available for immediate dispatch.  I hope to have normal service resumed by November

August 2014:
I am currently working on wooden boxes with individual brass lid detailing and flock lined.  These will be brilliant as jewellery boxes, crystal storage - more information for these can be found on my facebook page.  Update:  These are now available to buy here.

June 2014:
I am looking to expand.  My jewellery is currently showcased with two wonderful galleries in Scotland.  If you are a studio/gallery owner & you think I would fit in well with your clientele, please don't hesitate to contact me

November 2013:
If you are visiting here to enquire about the Ouroboros - Dragon Dreaming that was recently featured on the facebook page, he was sent to edinburgh to be branded with a hallmark then he began his journey to Sweden, where I have been informed he arrived safely and will be taken very good care off.

I'm in the process of making more ouroboros themed silverware, including another Dragon Dreaming - although no two will ever be the same as they are handcrafted.  Please feel free to send an email to auroragemstones@hotmail.co.uk showing your interest to have one reserved for you, or to have any item custom made especially for you.  Get in touch, I'd love to hear from you!

November 2013:
NEW:  A stunning collection of gem trees are now available to buy.  Each tree sculpture has been handcrafted using genuine semi-precious chipstones.  No two trees will ever be the same so they're truly unique.  If you have a preferred colour theme or size please do get in touch and I'll see if I can craft one specially for you.
You can find the new collection of trees in the category Gifts, Incense & Gem Trees.
